MEET THE AUTHOR
L.S. Franco is an award-winning author, mother, and advocate for neurodivergent children. She writes speculative fiction across age groups, spanning science fantasy, magical realism, science fiction, and select children's books. A member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Association (SFWA), the Alliance of Independent Authors (ALLi), and Friends of Worldcon, she believes stories are one of the most powerful ways to explore the human experience.
Originally from Brazil and now living in the United States, Franco was raised on classic tales, world folklore, and mythology. Decades as a tabletop RPG game master refined her instinct for immersive worldbuilding and multi-perspective narratives, while her experience in acting sharpened her sense of dialogue and character presence. As a Chief Strategy Officer, she brings both structure and imagination to her storytelling, creating layered worlds where wonder and consequence go hand in hand.
Writing first for her son, Franco gradually discovered that the questions that fascinated her most extended far beyond a single genre or audience. Whether writing for children, young adults, or adults, she is drawn to stories about identity, belonging, purpose, and the ways people make sense of life's joys, struggles, and contradictions. Her fascination with psychology and human behavior brings emotional depth and authenticity to her work.
Through stories filled with curiosity, empathy, and wonder, Franco hopes to entertain readers while leaving them with something meaningful to carry beyond the final page. To her, imagination is not separate from reality, but one of the ways we learn to understand it.
